We arrived at Chisos Mountain Lodge, situated inside Big Bend National Park, about 3:00 P.M. on Sunday.  It was a long ride but we were excited to begin our adventure.  Many pictures were taken of the dry Texas terrain during the six hour ride.  The mountain formation behind the lodge is appropriately named Casa Grande (Big House). 

We had a few hours to unpack, clean up, and rest before dinner at the lodge resturant, followed by a Welcome & Orientation meeting at the lodge meeting room.  There we met Chris who was our group leader.  Chris told us he was there for us 24-7 and he did an excellent job of fullfilling that promise.  No matter what happened, he could be counted on for a solution. 

After the meeting, it was off to our rooms to rest up for six miles of hiking tomorrow.
