  Noted events in his life were:

1. Death, 19 Mar 1978, , , Oregon, USA. Paul and son, Meadow,4 years old, were rafting, in the spring on a logging river. Paul had made the raft, and it was found floating down the river, where the others were supposed to meet him. The clothes were on the raft, but that was all. One theory is that Meadow fell over, and Paul jumped in to rescue him. The water was ice melt and there were many underwater caves. Navy divers couldn't locate the bodies for two weeks, when they were found floating at the mouth of the river. Paul had been telling Meadow all winter about Huckleberry Finn, and how they were going to float down the river like Huckleberry.
