Paul Theodor Zimmermann Sr.
1. Occupation. He worked for the Swiss railways. He had been trained as a pastry chef, in Uberlingen, Germany, and worked on a shop on the Lake of Constance. There were no jobs, later and he started working for the Swiss railways, as a track-inspector,as a young man. They always needed employees, according to Aunt Rosli, and he worked up to conductor. There was terrible poverty, when they went to Poland, women used to beg for food, by the trains and he would give them his bread.
