1. Biography. He was a lawyer in Scotland. Worked for Royal Liverpool Insurance in the U.S. Met Granny Sime when he was in Atlanta. She was his secretary, because she was the only one who could understand his brogue. He later had his own insurance company, but lost it during the depression. Moved the family to Venice, Florida, later to Elmhurst, N.Y., because the schools ran out of money in Florida. He went to the hospital for a simple ulcer operation and died of complications. He worked for Ocean Insurance Co. in N.Y. He smoked a lot. Probably had cancer, according to Genie Sime.
His hobbies were Shakespeare, Gilbert and Sullivan (a group of young men used to go from Edinborough to London to sing along, accoding to Betty Forsyth), and fishing.

Alexander married Mildred Hord Leiper, daughter of William Faulkner Leiper and Mary Upshur Lafon, on 3 Mar 1915 in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia, USA. (Mildred Hord Leiper was born on 4 Nov 1886 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford, Tennessee, USA, died on 20 Dec 1973 in Decatur, Dekalb, Georgia, USA and was buried in Maspeth, Queens, New York, USA.)
