Captain Nicholas Lafon

  Noted events in his life were:

1. Occupation. He was the great grandson of Lafon the Hugenot. At 18 years he entered as a private in Green's army in the American revolution. He was a Virginia Baptist minister. He, Maria and two other Upshur sisters, Hannah and Cordelia removed to Kentucky, before 1810.(About 1786).
Nicholas and Maria were cousins.
He went to Kentucky in 1784 with General Wilkerson to Fayette and Woodford Co.

Nicholas married Maria Upshur, daughter of John Upshur and Mary Lafon, on 12 Mar 1801 in , Essex, Virginia, USA. (Maria Upshur was born in 1772 in , Essex, Virginia, USA and died in 1857 in Woodford Co., Kentucky.)
