My first exposure to computers was as a student at the University of Nebraska in 1966.  I had a choice between learning German, Russian, or a computer language, FORTRAN.  It took me 13 milliseconds to decide which of the three choices was right for me!  The U. of N. had just installed a solid state IBM 360 computer replacing a tube based Univac.  It took up an entire floor of a building and was programmed with punch cards.  This powerful computer's capacity today would be dwarfed by a 20 dollar cell phone!  I was hooked!  I was the president of Lenawee PC Users group for about 20 years.  While this project has come to an end, there is a lot of material on the old club website that may be of interest.
